Increasing your general awareness, some tips here…
What is awareness anyway?
Well, what I mean by awareness is simply being aware of your surroundings, aware of you, what’s going on in your head… Simply put: Being present and living in the NOW.
If you’ve been reading any self help books, good ones anyway, they should be telling you that one of the most important aspects of living a successful life, ever, is to live now. Live in the present moment.
What do I mean by this?
Living in the present would be the opposite o living in the past or the future. So many people go around thinking on things in the past they could have done better, past mistakes and even successes. I ask one question, why?
There’s absolutely no reason to live in the past. It’s happened already, get over it. The most important thing is to live in the now.
Why?
Simply, that is all there is. The past does not exist, it’s just thoughts. So is the future. There is no future, only the present. So living somewhere else than in the present moment makes no sense, right?
I’d like to share a quote with you, which goes like this:
“Every moment is a new beginning”
Basically that means that there is only the present, and you create your tomorrow. There’s an entire life improvement system, or way of living actually based on this… it’s an hawaiian art called ho’oponopono which you should definitely look into.
Actually, a lot of systems are based on living in the present moment, but I really felt that I had to point this out to you. I love their philosophies, it’s all so simple.
Manifesting happens in the present, believe it or not. Every thought you put strong enough emotion behind, manifests, at first on another plane of existence, but it’s slowly piercing through to here :)
If you want to learn how to manifest something really quickly (really advanced stuff) you should check out the book “How to get lots of money for anything, fast!” by Stuart Lichtman, where he reveals his unique method called Cybernetic Transposition. Sorry I don’t have a link for you today, I’m kind of in a hurry, but you can handle doing some googling yourself, right?
Well, anyway, I’m gonna share something with you, a technique to increase your awareness. Again, it’s nothing ground breaking, but it’s surprisingly life changing.
So here goes:
Take a walk. Don’t let your mind wander, as it usually does when walking around. Stay present. Be aware of your surroundings, inhale the visions, the trees, the pavement, the houses, whatever. Pay attention to your body as well. Any emotions you get, any kind of strange feelings? Anything physical, any discomfort in your body?
Basically, take in everything. Stay aware and don’t let your mind fly away to some place else… don’t plan the day or what you’re gonna wear at the party tomorrow. What you do want to focus on is the present moment.
Do this for like, 30 minutes? Longer if you want. Or anything will help actually, even 5 minutes.
If you didn’t know it already, this is the purpose of most meditation. Getting away from the rest of the world and focusing on the now.
